What Coaching Is (and Is Not)

Support That Meets You Where You Are

Starting (or restarting) in a new classroom can feel overwhelming. This onboarding support is designed to walk alongside you, not evaluate you so you can build confidence, clarity, and sustainable routines at your own pace.

Coaching is a safe, supportive space to ask questions, reflect honestly, and figure out what works for your students.

What Coaching Is (and Is Not)

Coaching is:

  • Supportive, non-evaluative, and confidential
  • Focused on real classrooms and real challenges
  • Practical, encouraging, and teacher-driven
  • A partnership built on trust and respect

Coaching is not:

  • An evaluation or observation for accountability
  • A checklist or scripted program
  • Someone telling you how to teach
What We Might Work On Together

Every teacher’s needs are different. Coaching support may include:

  • Setting up classroom routines and flow
  • Making sense of daily schedules and transitions
  • Planning lessons that feel manageable and meaningful
  • Supporting fine motor, early literacy, math, science, and social studies instruction
  • Thinking through behavior challenges with compassion
  • Talking through what’s working, and what’s hard

You help decide the focus. Coaching flexes with you.

What a Coaching Session Feels Like

Coaching sessions may include:

  • A conversation about what’s going well and what feels heavy
  • Time in your classroom (observing, modeling, or co-teaching)
  • Reflecting together and choosing small, realistic next steps
  • Resources or ideas you can use right away

There’s no judgment. Just support.
