Are you looking for another way to help your students grasp letter recognition? Begin by letting your students “feel” the way the letter is formed.

  • Attach focus letter behind a plastic mesh canvas sheet sewing square with a binder clip and have the students follow along as they feel the letter and say the directions given. Other Alternatives…

  • Have students roll out Play-Doh onto each letter.

  • Pre-attach Wiki-Sticks/Bend-A-Roo’s to each letter and have students feel the letter as they repeat your directions. Each time a student “feels” the letter, have them repeat the directions you provide. Example directions to make the lower case “c”: “Put your finger on the purple dot. Curve up to the fence (dotted line) and touch it. Curve around and touch the grass (bottom line). Curve up a little and stop.”
